Rules (suggested)

• The timer should start when a pallet is first cut open, and stop once all boxes have been opened and contents removed as well as packaging taken off.

• The pallet size is determined by the number of cartons listed on a pallet. Alternatively, if reasonable/trusted, cutters can count the boxes on a pallet and report that instead

• Packaging for plates, books and other annoying items have to come off before a pallet is classed as done

• The cutters floor must also be clean before the timer is ended

• Supervisors/TL’s should only count there own pallet if verifiable by other TM’s. If utilizing a reward system they should not be considered due to bias.

• To avoid Event/Confectionary inflation, if a pallet is less then 50% ‘openable’ boxes (ie an Air Fryer or Cadbury box) it does not count and should not be logged. De-flapping items like Cosmetics do count as real boxes.

• Ultimately the criteria is dependent on the shift and the supervisor but these are guideline rules that have worked for us

Injury Mitigation

We are aware that everyone wants to win and be first, unfortunately that causes injury risks. Be sure to take regular breaks and cut the safe way as shown on WorkVivo. Ensure cutters are often being switched out as runners to provide rest. To further reduce the likelihood of injury the max cutting speed will be capped at 250 boxes/hour. If you have cut a lot recently or are above 250/h across a whole shift your supervisor will get an alert notice. By entering times into the ‘Leader Boards’ the supervisor acknowledges it is there responsibility to ensure the health and safety of the team, this website will not be held liable.
